- Photo Title:
- Presidential visit
- Description:
- In November 1967, the President of Turkey paid a State Visit to Britain including Glasgow. He came from London on the Royal Train and I took this on a very dull morning as the train came out of the Pollokshaws Loop which was a favourite breakfast stabling point. In those days the Royal Train was worked by 2 English Electric Type 4s and D217 CARINTHIA with steam issuing from the boiler safety valve led D311 towards Crossmyloof heading for Glasgow Central.
