Photo Title:
New and old type signals together at Dunblane North but not for much longer.
Description:
New and old type signals together at Dunblane North but not for much longer. 19.05.23 Left to right: DB42 Down Loop three aspect with subsidiary which is lit when something is signalled into the CE Siding. Something exiting the CE Siding does so by communication with the signaller in the box and then when ready hand signals between the two. DB45 Down Main three aspect (will these move to align with DB41?). DB13/17/18 Down Main ground position shunt light signal with route indicator to allow crossover to the Up Main or reposition back along to the Down Main or Down Loop Platforms. DB6 Up Main Home signal semaphore will be replaced by a 3-aspect LED signal around a mile away, just north of the where the A9 crosses the railway and River Allan. A new Up Main distant LED signal DB6R (replacing DB5, between Ashfield and Dunblane) will be sited just south of the B8033 overbridge at Kinbuck. DB27 Up Main disc shunt signal next to the signalbox will be replaced by a Ground Position Light shunt signal. Further north next to Laighills Footbridge Down Main starter semaphore signal DB44 will be replaced by an LED two aspect red / green signal. A new Down Main LED two aspect red / green stop signal DB43 will be erected half way between Ashfield and Kinbuck. To support this, A new Down Main LED two aspect yellow / green distant signal DB43R will be erected just north of the UB6 River Allan bridge (on the north side of the A9) half way between Dunblane and Ashfield. Once completed, that moves the first full semaphore signals (not ground discs as four? still at Stirling) on the SC119 Greenhill Upper to Dundee route north to being located at Greenloaning. Thanks to 'Dysgraphyk' for postings containing the new / relocated signalling information.
