It has five platforms numbered 0 to 4 with 0 in the old car park with platforms numbered left to right with 4 on the right hand side.

Platform 0 - used for First Scotrail services to Cowdenbeath, Glenrothes and other peak services from Stirling and Carnoustie

Platform 1 - used for First Scotrail services to Edinburgh from the Fife Circle and some Dunblane services, East Coast services to London Kings Cross from Aberdeen and Arriva Cross Country? services from Aberdeen to the South

Platform 2 - used for First Scotrail services to Glenrothes, Markinch, Aberdeen and Inverness, East Coast services to Aberdeen and Arriva Cross Country? services to Dundee and Aberdeen

Platform 3 - used for First Scotrail services to Edinburgh from Glasgow Central, Bathgate, Dunblane, Glasgow Queen St, East Coast services from Glasgow Central pass through non stop, the Highland Cheiftain service from Inverness to London Kings Cross and Virgin Trains services from the South into Edinburgh

Platform 4 - used for First Scotrail services to Glasgow Central, Bathgate, Dunblane, Glasgow Queen St, some Natinoal Express East Coast? services to Glasgow Central call here, some pass through, the East Coast service to Inverness also calls here and Virgin services to the South
