Description:: Stanier Class 5-4-6-0 "Black Five" pair 44871 and 45407 with WCR maroon Class 47 diesel no. 47802 at the rear kick off Day 4 of Railway Touring Co's Great Britain XVI charter as they slowly puff through Kirkwood station working the 1Z36 from Glasgow Central to Inverness. A phot that almost never happened thanks to the combined efforts of an untimely arrival of 2S19, and of course the obligatory massive patch of thick cloud lingering in front of the sun. Both did happen to clear off just in time though. (16/04/2024)
