Introduction

The Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway runs from Glasgow Queen Street-Edinburgh Waverley via Falkirk High. The stations on the route are Glasgow Queen Street, Bishopbriggs, Lenzie, Croy, Falkirk High, Polmont, Linlithgow, Edinburgh Park, Haymarket and Edinburgh Waverley.

Electrification

In August 2009 a proposal was given to electrify this line. If this project goes ahead it should be completed by 2016.

Rolling Stock

Services are operated by Class 170 and the daily Caledonian Sleeper is operated by Class 67. Sometimes during peak hours and if a Class 170 Turbostar breaks down a Class 158 is used with the Class 170's.
