ScotRail (previously known as First ScotRail) is the main rail passenger franchise in Scotland, let by Transport Scotland to Aberdeen based First Group. The franchise runs from 17th October 2004 for seven years until 2011. A three year extension has now been added to the franchise and it is now due to finish in 2014.
ScotRail operate a fleet of 251 multiple units as well as sleeper trains which are hauled by DB Schenker locomotives.
